Certificate Description
This four-month Phlebotomy Technician Certificate provides theory and clinical experiences needed for the proper collection of blood and other specimens used for diagnostic testing.
Program Learning Outcomes
Phlebotomy Technician students will:
- Be proficient using blood collection equipment.
- Maintain proper phlebotomy (venipuncture) technique.
- Be proficient with specimen handling and processing in a healthcare setting.
- Be familiar with issues regarding today’s healthcare setting.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and other healthcare professionals.
Employment Opportunities
Upon completion of this course, individuals should be able to apply for positions in hospital, corporate, and physician practice laboratories.
