Course Description
This course is designed for instructional areas related to a veterinarian practice including veterinary terminology, terminology, anatomy and physiology, animal husbandry, animal disease, parasitology, pharmacology, surgical packs and instruments, recordkeeping and the law. Skills taught may include animal restraint techniques, fecal and heartworm tests, history of animal and physical exam, skin scrape for demodex/sarcoptes, ear swab for ear mites, temperature, pulse, respirations, and subcutaneous injections. This Workforce Certificate is offered to high school students through the Career and College Promise (CCP) program.
Employment Opportunities
Upon completion of this course, individuals should be able to apply for entry-level positions at veterinary offices/clinics.
