Certificate Description
This certification covers the NFPA 1001 Standard for Firefighter Professional Qualifications, Current Edition. Firefighter blocks 1, 2, and 3 are available to high school juniors and seniors through the Career and College Promise program.
Program Learning Outcomes
Firefighter students will:
- Learn to operate safely and effectively on an emergency incident.
- Participate as a member of a team to mitigate and control various emergency incidents.
- Perform the duties of a Firefighter in the State of North Carolina.
Employment Opportunities
Upon completion of this certification, individuals will be able to function and apply for positions as a credentialed firefighter in the State of North Carolina.
