Course Description

Program Learning Outcomes
Firefighter students will:
- Learn to operate safely and effectively on an emergency incident.
- Participate as a member of a team to mitigate and control various emergency incidents.
- Perform the duties of a Firefighter in the State of North Carolina.
Employment Opportunities
Upon completion of this certification, individuals will be able to function and apply for positions as a credentialed firefighter in the State of North Carolina.

Fire Fighter Certification Career and College Promise
- FIP - 3031 Firefighter Block 1
- This course includes General and Communications, Fireground Operations 1, Fireground Operations 2, Fireground Operations 3, and Fireground Operations 4.
- FIP - 3032 Firefighter Block 2
- This course includes Firegrounds Operations 5, Fireground Operations 6, Fireground Operations 7, Fireground Operations 8, and Emergency Medical Care.
- FIP - 3033 Firefighter Block 3
- This course includes Rescue Operations 1, Fire & Life Safety Initiatives, Safety & Survival.
*Note: The College and Career Promise pathway does not include Fireground Operations 9. Students must be 18 years of age prior to beginning Fireground Operations 9.
