This course provides an intense study of topics which are fundamental to the study of calculus. Emphasis is placed on equations and inequalities, functions and their graphs, with special attention to polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions, and analytic trigonometry and geometry. Upon completion, students should be able to solve practical problems and use appropriate models for analysis and prediction. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA and ICAA as a general education course requirement in mathematics (Quantitative). This course has been approved for transfer under the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement as a Universal General Education Transfer Component (UGETC) course for mathematics (AA/AS).
