This course will cover: Types of individual bees (queen, workers, drones); Beekeeping equipment, frames and foundation; personal equipment; species or subspecies of Package bees to include topics of locating, ordering and handling, installing, and feeding; what a typical season with bees would involve such as Swarming, Nectar flow, Supers, Nectar and Pollen Sources, Pollination, Harvesting honey, Extracting honey, Marketing honey, Labeling containers, Diseases and parasites, Integrated pest management, Queenless colonies, Useful manipulation of bee colonies, Checking for queen cells, Laying workers, Signs of a failing queen, a good worker brood pattern, a queen cell; allergic reaction to bee venom, Robbing comb honey.
