Curriculum Prerequisite Policy

The purpose of a prerequisite and/or a co-requisite is to ensure student success in subsequent coursework.

Surry Community College requires all students to follow course co/pre-requisites as outlined by the North Carolina Community College System and SCC Catalog. However, students who have evidence (transcripts, test scores, portfolios, etc.) may submit a “Co/Pre-Requisite Waiver” electronic form to the division chair/director who oversees the course in question. Documentation of the approved waiver will be maintained on file in the Office of Student Services
